Le prix Édouard et Lucie Chaffoteaux a pour objectif de soutenir 8 projets de recherche finalisés, ou en cours de finalisation, affiliés à un laboratoire de recherche (niveau Master, PhD ou post-doctorant ou thèse d’exercice).

Ces prix récompensent une recherche apportant une avancée importante en gériatrie et gérontologie.

8 prix d'une valeur de 12 000€ chacun dans  5 domaines différents :

- Recherche fondamentale et biologique

- Recherche clinique

- Sciences cliniques infirmières et paramédicales

- Numérique (sont exclus les projets concernant le développement d’outils à vocation commerciale)

- Sciences humaines et sociales
